On October 13, 2023, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, commemorated World Mental Health Day with a unique seminar on Forensic Science. The event, organized by the Department of Student Welfare in collaboration with the NSS club, attracted over 100 students specializing in forensic science.Despite its unconventional theme, the seminar on Forensic Science served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about mental health. The guest speaker, Dr. Vibha Goyal from IVY Hospital, Mohali, seamlessly integrated the discussion of the mental well-being of forensic professionals into her presentation.
Dr. Goyal’s expertise in both forensic science and mental health underscored the importance of mental well-being in a demanding profession. She eloquently conveyed the significance of self-care, stress management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance for those pursuing careers in forensic science .The Q&A session was particularly enlightening, as students engaged Dr. Goyal in conversations about the psychological challenges they might encounter during their future careers. It was a unique opportunity to address the mental health concerns within this field.
